Earth Day Celebration at Legion Park

Earth Day @ Legion Park – Saturday, April 23rd

 What to know before you go:

• The Upper Eastside Farmers Market will feature even more great vendors at the event and will continue until 3:00 PM.

• VolunteerCleanUp.org will be hosting shoreline clean ups every half hour beginning at 1:00 PM.  (1:00 PM, 1:30 PM, 2:00 PM, 2:30 PM).  Please wear closed toed shoes and sign the waiver.

• All homeowner associations will have a table.  If you would like to volunteer at your neighborhood’s table, let them know.

• Please bring your own cups for free water from our water stations.

• Lots of events for kids – 1, 2, 3, Find That Tree, a recycled art competition, environmental education, fitness activities, and mascots.  Prizes!!

• It is a pet friendly event with a vet onsite offering low cost vaccines.

• The fruit tree giveaway will start at noon with only City of Miami residents (with ID) eligible to receive two free fruit trees – Avocado, Mango, Lychee or Sapodilla*.  Trees will be given away on a first come first served basis, limit 2 trees per person.  *Actual trees may vary.

• We are collaborating with @igersmiami the official Miami Instagram Community, for WORLD WIDE INSTAMEET 13.  Please tag your photos with #WWIM13miami #LIFEonEarthWWIM13 #UESEarthDay and #D5Today and follow @igersmiami and @OfficialMiamiNET

• We will have a live art demonstration with local artists interpreting the Earth Day theme.
